TAPSnTINS is an ecommerce subscription platform, famed for its Save the Beer campaign which aimed to save 8,000 kegs of beer from being poured down the drain during the COVID 19 epidemic. It was co-founded by our MD, Paul Davenport.
MOBLE MD and Co-Founder Paul Davenport created TAPSnTINS as a platform initially to showcase the features of MOBLE’s ecommerce solution.
When COVID19 took hold, a Home Ordering and Pickup Extension was quickly added to the MOBLE ecommerce platform, offering an alternative to Home Ordering apps which can take up to 30% fees.
What began as a demo website for our ecommerce training series ‘How to start an ecommerce startup’, quickly became a real business.
TAPSnTINS began with the challenge to #SAVETHEBEER; thousands of kegs of beer destined for pubs across the country became held up in warehouse, literally overnight, with the announcement of pub closures.
The website aimed to Save The Beer with a crowdfunding campaign that ensured people would pledge to pre-order beer before it was poured. The company smashed its Crowdfunding target in the first week, grossing $20,000 in transactions. The Crowdfunding campaign was entirely run on MOBLE CMS, ensuring people could pledge, but also buy cases of craft beer, to support the companies immediate cash flow requirements of buying stock and cans.
Once the Crowdfund campaign was complete, the website was to be completely rebuilt, from the previous 'Pledge' and 'Ecommerce' solution, into a 'Subscription' Ecommerce solution. In the subscription model, customers can add a certain volume of beer to their cart based on their subscription plan. E.g. The $50 plan can select 6 x 1 litre beers per month.
The rebuilding of the platform from the standard ecommerce solution to subscription ecommerce, all happened in one intensive weekend, demonstrating the power of MOBLE CMS.
As a publican I've had websites before, but this platform is something else. You don't realise what happens behind the scenes from managing orders and picking slips, to doing payouts to our suppliers. It's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we helped Save The Beer along the way!

The timing of the website in conjunction with the the launch of MOBLE's ecommerce and subscription model features, made TAPSnTINS the perfect website to showcase MOBLE's new ecommerce tools, and become the subject of our new Web School training series and online course.
