Historically the ecommerce website resided within the Hair Salon website. The brief was to migrate the old ecommerce area away from Salon into an all new national ecommerce brand. When migrating pages in such a way, careful consideration is required not to inhibit the current SEO rankings, which boast Page 1 rankings for terms of major like 'Oribe'.
Further consideration was required to optimise the opt-in of old Salon customers to the new ecommerce website. In order to make the experience as seamless as possible a simple yet conscientious onboarding strategy was designed to comply with Australia's Spam Act and maximise the conversions from the old brand to the new.
Being a new brand we had flexibility to play with the colour scheme. We opted for dark look that distinguished the website from other online competitors, while allowing product shots to pop with a high contrast circles.
The home page uses a neat horizontal scrolling slider allowing visitors to quickly filter to the main brands. Visitors can also use the the full page drawer menu to navigate by brand, best sellers and sale items.
Each brand has a category page with custom filters to browse products by unique tags. An image slider takes advantage of high-end brand imagery displaying hair styles synonymous with each brand.
To migrate the product data we were given access to the old website and exported all products. We used MOBLE's Website Automation tools to import data to the new MOBLE website, which instantly created new product pages, while instantly assigned them to the correct category page design layouts.
On going live the client was empowered not only to easily upload huge batches of product data, but also to be comfortable with MOBLE's web design tools to manage web pages with ease, and always stay on brand.
